known for her commitment to service, most particularly in helping young people. That dedication is evidenced by her 13 years as a Board Trustee for the Conroe Independent School District, with over 50,000 students. It also shows in her 15-year service as an Interact sponsor. Today, Dr. Snyder holds a board position on
St. Lukes’ Hospital The Woodlands, Education for Tomorrow Alliance, South Montgomery County/Woodlands Chamber of Commerce, Martin Luther King Jr. Commemorative Celebration, and Junior League Advisory Board. Her past board service and involvements include The Woodlands Center for the Performing Arts, Friends of the Library, Montgomery County Community Foundation, YMCA and The Woodlands Symphony Orchestra. She has also led several organizations as President, including the Conroe Independent School District Board of Trustees, numerous Parent Teacher Organizations, The Woodlands High School Golf Booster Club, National Charity League, The Woodlands Junior Golf Association, and as the first woman President of The Woodlands Rotary Club.
Dr. Snyder has assisted with building homes for low income residents, building playgrounds in low income neighborhoods, planning events for nonprofit organizations, leading school bond elections, and managing county recovery efforts during the disasters of Hurricanes Katrina and Rita.
As would be expected for a devoted community leader, Dr. Snyder has been the recipient of many honors. She was named a 2000 Hometown Hero of The Woodlands, a 1999 Montgomery County Woman of Distinction, the 2007 Junior League Sustainer of the Year, and one of the 1995 and 2005 South Montgomery County People of the Year. Held in the highest regard, Dr. Snyder has been twice awarded the Rotary International Paul Harris Award, was inducted into the Rotary District 5910 Hall of Fame, and received a U.S. House of Representatives Commendation in 2004. Dr. Snyder also received the coveted Drum Major Award in 2009.
Dr. Ann Snyder received a Bachelor’s Degree from Colorado State University, a Masters Degree from the University of Missouri and a Doctorate of Education from Baylor University. Professionally, she has served in many capacities in education ranging from classroom teacher to college professor at Oklahoma City University and the University of Houston. Currently, she heads a large nonprofit agency in The Woodlands, and resides in the Village of Grogan’s Mill with her husband, Jerry.
