A proud 5th-generation Texan, and life-long resident of Montgomery County, Nelda Luce Blair is Texas lawyer whose legal career has spanned over 25 years. Nelda just completed 3 terms as Chairman of the Board of Directors of The Woodlands Township and continues to serve as as member of that Board. She also continues as Chairman of the Board of Directors of The Woodlands Convention & Visitors Bureau.
Nelda is an integral part of her community, serving on the Board and as Past Chairman of the South Montgomery County Woodlands Chamber of Commerce, and also served on the Board of Trustees for The Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion. She is also a member of the Advisory Board for the Center for Houston’s Future. As with many generational Texans, Nelda was the first in her family to attend college, so she greatly values the importance of education. She is President of the Conroe ISD Education Foundation, and holds a position on the Chancellor's Advisory Committee of the Lone Star College System. In 2008, Governor Rick Perry appointed Nelda to the University of Houston System Board of Regents for a 6-year term.

Nelda was named a “Hometown Hero” of The Woodlands, as well as one of “Houston’s 50 Most Influential Women of 2009” by Houston Woman magazine, and a “Citizen of the Year 2009” by the Greater Houston Women’s Chamber. She is well-known for her decades of support for countless charities, with a special heart for animal advocacy groups.
Over the years, Nelda has also been active in hundreds of local, state and national political campaigns, and testifies before the Texas Legislature for various causes. She frequently appears as a legal commentator on CNN, FOXNews, MSNBC and CourtTV; has authored over 100 legal and real estate articles; and is a popular public speaker.
A Conroe Tiger (1976), Baylor Bear (B. A. 1980) and University of Houston Cougar (J. D. 1982), Nelda Luce Blair is triple Board Certified by the State Bar of Texas in Residential, Commercial and Farm & Ranch Real Estate Laws.
Nelda lives, works and plays in The Woodlands, and believes that Montgomery County is a very special place. She and her husband Jim Blair, a retired attorney, are active members of First Baptist Church of The Woodlands, and former residents of the Village of Panther Creek, now residing in the Village of Grogan’s Mill. |
